Justice League And The Avengers (Part 1).
S’up, people? It’s been a minute since I’ve posted, and I apologise for the irregularities in the posting schedule, but at last I have something new…
A comparison between Justice League and The Avengers. Watching the movie Justice League, I was struck by the similarities between the two teams. Let’s look at them, shall we?
(Because I’m wanting to just get something out there, and the sheer size of it, I’ll be splitting this up into 2 or 3 parts).
1. Batman And Iron Man.
Thanks to the Lego Batman movie, I can’t help but see the many similarities between these two characters… Like, it’s bad.
Both have high-tech suits, fast cars, businesses, butlers, and no parents. Neither play well with others. And now that I think about it, both have adopted sons: Robin and Spiderman (I’m ignoring for the moment that there is no Robin in Justice League).
Both play key roles in their respective teams. Batman, along with Superman, is the face of DC Comics. And the Avengers would be very, very different without Iron Man.
Of course, they also have their differences. While Stark Industries (at least used to) makes primarily weapons, Wayne Enterprises does a little bit of everything, according to Wikipedia. Ahem. And as far as I know, Batman was never held captive in the Middle East. I’m sure there’s more.
On a side note, I googled once who’s Richer, Bruce Wayne or Tony Stark. No one knows. I don’t even have a guess. Who do you think?
2. Wonder Woman and Black Widow
Both Justice League and Avengers have their “strong woman character”.
I wasn’t sure at first whether I should compare Wonder Woman and Black Widow or Captain Marvel. While it’s noteworthy that wonder and marvel mean the same thing, all I know of Captain Marvel is… Infinity War and Endgame.
So Black Widow and Wonder Woman it is. They’re the only females on their team, fantastic fighters, and are just awesome. But while Wonder Woman has what I’m guessing is ancient weaponry, Black Widow plays with new tech.
Endgame Spoiler Alert, move along. And during Justice League, Wonder Woman begins leading her team, while Natasha takes over directing the Avengers in Endgame.
End of spoilers.
Their similarities aren’t as pronouced as Batman/Iron Man, but they are still rough parallels. Did you guys see any similarities I missed?
Well, that’s all for now. I will be posting the next part (or parts) later on, which will cover Superman, Cyborg, Flash, and Aquaman on the DC side.
Thanks for reading, and I hope you stick around for the next parts! Please, don’t be shy and tell me what you think about Marvel, DC, and all things superhero. Do you prefer Justice League or the Avengers? What similarities between them do you see?
